San Salvador boasts of having the largest number of shopping malls, more than any other city in Central America. The modern shopping malls add a modern stroke to this ancient and rugged city.

Of the innumerable malls in San Salvador, some deserve a special mention and attention. One of these malls is the Multiplaza Mall located on the Panamerican Hwy in San Salvador. Multiplaza mall is known for its beautiful and extraordinary architecture. Even people who do not want to go shopping; still it is recommended that they should visit the Multiplaza mall for ‘sightseeing’ its architecture and exotic interiors.

Fountains and sitting area make it a perfect place to hang out with your companion or friends. It consists of more than 250 national and international brands stores, restaurants, bars, fine dining restaurants, café and a theatre complex. One can find stores of accessories, handicrafts, jewelry, clothing, gift shops, and bookstores to name a few. Some of the well known brands include Benetton, Nautica, and Nine West. It also has famous departmental stores like Dorian’s and Sanborn’s. It also houses some of the most ‘in’ night spots like pubs, discos and theatres. The mall has three open air levels with cafes and restaurants everywhere. The mezzanine level has a large stage and plays host to musical concerts frequently. If a person is looking for something special to buy, Galerias is the best option in San Salvador which is located off Paseo Escalon. The mall is a giant structure and a mere look at it from outside is not enough to guess how enormous it is. Once the person enters the mall, he will realize how amazing the building with the stores spread across 3 levels that make a circle around the outer edge of the structure. It has departmental stores, shoe stores, clothing outlets for shopping as well as movie theatre, café, restaurants, food courts for food and fun. At one end of the mall is the well known ‘Simans’ spread over the entire 3 levels while on the other end the first 2 levels are the food court. Food enthusiasts can find famous food chains like Pizza Hut, Mc Donalds, Wendys, China Wok, Sbarro and many more. It also houses a fish aquarium store with variety of tropical and non tropical fishes, turtles, hamsters etc. There is also an arcade called the World Games which includes some great machines for playing. The topmost level has the movie theatre but the view of the city from the glass windows there is majestic. This well managed mall built around a turn of century mansion is worth a visit.

The malls in San Salvador give its visitors a great shopping experience coupled with various entertainment options and hence it can be rightly said ‘all under one roof’.
