The national palace is one of the antique monuments, which was built in 1905 with Italian marble and classical style design. The palace enclosed by four halls with decorative ornate pattern artistically crafted from inside. Apart from this there are 101 secondary rooms, which were mainly used for the purpose of meeting by Salvadoran parliament. Another historical monument named Columbus monument is one of the most attractive photographic sites in entire Bahamas. Some People believe that the greatest moments of history took place at this important site of monument. It is said that, The Columbus scholar and the widow of Hollywood producer David L. Wolper had a stone cross located here on Christmas Day in year 1956.
The Monument to Memory & Truth has its unique significance saying that it is a space for hope where one can dream of building a humane, just and equitable society. It has memorial 300 feet length black granite wall, where the names of 25000 people inscribed who lost their lives during the war. The Monument to the Savior of the World is one of the iconic monuments established in 1942. This monument is the main symbol of faith and hope of the Salvadoran people. A statue of Jesus Christ on a globe of earth planet is placed on the top of square which has made from concrete base pedestal. It was severely damaged in year 1986 earthquake but it has rebuilt again and put in its original place after some months.
Besides this, there are so many antique monuments in San Salvador like Plaza Morazán, Plaza Gerardo Barrios, Water Clock, Atlacatl and the Proceres Monument. They are sure to attract clusters of visitors towards them. Even though most of the monuments of San Salvador are explicitly created but for Salvadoran people these monuments are an important part of their tribute to crucial times and cultural heritage.
